What to Expect Next - Spring Season 2024



The Spring 2024 Season will be here before you know it! We are excited to have you join us and appreciate your support.

Communication is key to ensuring the success of the league. Over the course of this season, we will be sending you emails with the information you will need this season. Due to this being a mass email system, please check your filters to ensure that messages do not get lost in your junk mail folder. Included are answers to some common questions you may have. If you have any questions, you can email us at [email protected].
 
Spring registration is currently open until March 3rd, 2024. Space is limited so don't wait!
After the registration deadline, late registration is based upon availability and is not guaranteed. Once registration is full, we will build a waitlist and fill openings from the waitlist on a first-come, first-serve basis. A $10.00 increase in registration will apply and you will be placed on any team that has openings in your grade division. Buddy and Coach requests are less likely to be met during late registration.

GATE ADMISSION DETAILS FOR BRIAN PICCOLO PARK:
The park does charge admission on weekends and holidays only. Entry to the park will be a $3.00 per vehicle entrance fee, for up to eight (8) people per vehicle. Families also have the option to purchase an annual park pass which is $30 per car and good for twelve months. The league does not provide entry passes; families are responsible for their entry during the season. Please show up early as the gate may be backed up since the park only has two lanes.

IMPORTANT DATES FOR THE SPRING 2024 SEASON:
 
DECEMBER 1ST, 2023: Spring season registration begins.

DECEMBER 1ST UNTIL 1 WEEK PRIOR TO START OF SEASON: We will be forming teams, confirming coaches, creating schedules, and more during this time.  

MARCH 3RD, 2024: Early registration closes for all league locations. Today is the last day for a guaranteed spot on a team.

MARCH 4TH, 2024:
Late registration begins. Limited space, based upon availability per age division. Late fee will apply.
  
2 WEEKS PRIOR TO START OF SEASON: All rosters and schedules will be posted.

WEEK OF APRIL 1ST: Player's jersey, flags/flag belt, and optional merchandise purchased during registration will begin arriving at Ship-To address provided with registration. 

APRIL 2ND @ 7 PM EST - MANDATORY COACHES TRAINING: Virtual meeting for all volunteer coaches and team managers for all Florida league locations. After registration closes, volunteers will be assigned to a team once their background check is cleared. Each volunteer assigned will receive a team shirt and a game ball. A separate email will be sent out to RSVP for the meeting with the Zoom link.

APRIL 7TH, 2024: Meet & Greet Day - Times and locations are posted 1 week prior to the start of the season on the website under Game Day - Game Schedules. Teams will meet the coaches for 30 minutes off the field then participate in their first 1 hour practice on the field. Bring your mouth guard, jersey, and flag belt/flags! Please double-check your player's roster in the MOJO app

APRIL 14TH, 2024: 1st week of games. Practice is held 1 hour PRIOR to the game time listed on the schedule each week. Check your Game Schedule under the GAME DAY tab on the website or the MOJO app.

MAY 19TH, 2024: The last week of the season will be our Madden Playoffs. ALL teams will have at least one game scheduled today. Exact schedules for this date will be posted after the STANDINGS are finalized.  Madden teams may play an additional game for the championship game after the playoffs.  Please note that Lombardi and Shula games may be adjusted to accommodate the playoffs schedule.

JUNE 2ND, 2024*: League make-up date in case of inclement weather or facility issues during the season. Need to be determined by Tyreek Hill Flag Football Management. Please note that Hollywood/Cooper City will not have a makeup date as the park closes after Memorial Weekend.

Individual and team photos are taken during practice. ALL teams need to take a team photo together; individual photos are optional. Order information is below. 
*Dates are tentative and may change or be removed from the schedule based on the # of players registered for Spring. Players are able to visit another league location for photos if unable to attend the date listed for the league they are participating in. Please let the photographer know if visiting from another league location. 


EQUIPMENT:

Jersey, Flag Belt/Flags, and a mouth guard must be worn each week. Your jersey and flag belt, plus any additional merchandise you ordered during your registration, will be shipped directly to your home. A $12.99 shipping fee will be applied during registration. Your player MUST have a mouth guard to participate. Bring your own, or conveniently purchase one ONLINE for pick up on-site at the Game Day Tent for $5.
 
Shorts and/or pants without pockets are to be worn during games. If a participant wears shorts/pants with pockets, the pockets need to be taped down to prohibit a player's hand or fingers from getting caught in them when pulling flags. 
 
Players can wear any type of plastic molded cleats or sneakers. No metal cleats allowed.

COMMON QUESTIONS:

WHEN WILL MY PLAYER(S) RECEIVE THEIR EQUIPMENT?
Once we complete putting teams together, we will ship the rosters to our inventory department who will begin to pack and ship out individual equipment to each player. You should expect your NFL FLAG jersey, flag belt, and any other equipment you may have purchased no later than your scheduled Meet & Greet. You must bring a mouth guard to every practice and game. They will be available at the field for $5 each week. 

WHAT OTHER EQUIPMENT WILL MY PLAYER NEED THIS SEASON?

WHEN WILL I HEAR FROM MY COACH? 
We are hosting our virtual coaches meeting prior to the season. You should hear from your coach the week before Meet & Greet.

WILL THERE BE ANY PRACTICES DURING THE WEEK?
We are a recreational organization on a mission to make our favorite sport accessible, inclusive, and fun for every child who wants to play. Part of this mission is only requiring a 2 hour commitment from families each week, allowing them time to participate in additional activities. Therefore, hosting additional practices prior to the start of the season or during the season aside from the scheduled times on the designated day is not allowed.

WE ALREADY REGISTERED BUT DID NOT ADD JERSEY LETTERING. CAN IT STILL BE ADDED?
Jersey lettering is available until the registration deadline. After the registration deadline, we no longer offer the option for jersey lettering to ensure delivery before the season begins. If interested in adding jersey lettering, please visit https://jerseyletteringguy.com/ and select your Season, State, and League, then enter your email address used for registration to find your player. 

WE WOULD LIKE TO ADD SOME OF THE ADDITIONAL MERCHANDISE AFTER WE COMPLETED THE REGISTRATION BUT THE OPTIONS ARE NO LONGER SHOWING. CAN WE STILL PURCHASE ANY OF THOSE ITEMS?
Once the registration has been completed, the optional merchandise can not be added to the initial order, however, families are welcome to shop our NFL Flag Fan Shop at anytime to rep their team or grab some official NFL Flag gear! 

ARE THERE PLAYOFFS?
Yes, for our Madden divisions only (4th grade and up).  The top 4 teams in each Madden division will participate in playoffs the last week of the season.  The top 2 teams will then play an additional game the same day for the Championship.  All other divisions (3rd grade & under) will not have playoffs.
